Here are some resources that may be useful to composers and performers.
These charts show sounding pitches and fingerings for natural harmonics on violin, viola, cello, and 4-string double bass with C extension. For violin and viola, the charts go to the 9th partial, and for cello and bass, the charts go to the 11th partial. The charts are theoretical, meaning that on an ideal instrument, the given harmonic should sound at the given node. In reality, some nodes may be very difficult to find, and some nodes may produce a cleaner pitch than others.
